- Must be willing to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

- Must be able to sit, stand, walk for extended periods of time.

- Must be fluent in English both verbal and written.

- Use of force experience an asset.

- Previous law enforcement or security experience an asset.

- G2 or G driver's license required.

- Personal vehicle required.

- Previous expereince an asset but not required.

- Post secondary education an asset but not required.

- Good attitude and work ethic.

Duties

What Will You Be Doing?

As a security guard, you will be posted to various customer locations with a variety of duties like crowd control, access control, foot patrol, vehicle patrol, patient watch & transfers, prevent theft and property damage, responding to alarms, and much more!

Southwestern Defence is looking for expereinced security professionals in Grey and Bruce and surrounding areas for various deployments at client sites. We have full-time, part-time, and seasonal work avilable.

We have lots of opportunities for advancement including supervisory, mobile, management etc.

Details

Schedule:

- 12/10/8 hour shifts

- Days/Nights/Holidays/Weekends

- Overtime and on-call

Supplemental pay:

- Overtime pay

Communte/Relocation:

- Owen Sound: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work

- minimum 25% willingness to travel

Other:

- No Criminal Record

Parking Enforcement Officers

Job Description:

Conduct foot patrols of assigned areas ensuring compliance with the municipality's parking by-laws as they related to the parking of vehicles.

This position would be great for those currently in, or just graduated from Community Justice or Police Foundations programs, giving you experience in building community connections, deescalation tactics, issuing Provincial Offence Notices, learning to deal with other authorities such as Ontario Provincial Police, Parks Canada, and other Bylaw Officers.

Job Requirements / Preferences

- Diploma in Police Foundations or related discipline is an asset.

- Must be minimum 18 years of age.

- Clean criminal background check.

- Must be legal to work in Canada.

- Have G2/G class driver's license.

- Strong customer service skills.

- Proficient in English both written and verbal.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

- Conduct patrols throughout the municipality to assess parking and enforce parking by-law infractions proactively

- Provide enforcement response and issue associated parking penalty notices

- Engage in awareness and education discussions with the public to achieve compliance with parking regulations and deter parking infractions

- Report parking signage issues for inspection review and resolution

- Assist Municipal Law Enforcement Officers with investigations and gathering evidence
